David Du & May Shen

Welcome to the home of David and May!

I studied in Shanghai JiaoTong University from where my most solid friends came.

I always believe the six and half years in SJTU are the most important period in my life. New things, new friends, and all the heart-breaking moments.

We're still maintaining a homepage called HOME 34372 for a place to gather.

I went to Singapore for PhD study in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in October 1996, which turned out to be a disappointment. In May 1997 I quit and joined SITA (Société Internationale de Télécommunications Aéronautiques).

Not as well-known as AT&T or BT, SITA is actually a monopoly that almost dominated the telecommunications of international civil aviation. I was in a team supporting a mini-frame machine called ASP (Aircom Server Processor) which provides 80% of world's airlines the air-ground data communication. Being the pioneer of global data communication, SITA still operates the world's largest privately-owned data network (Well Internet is not).

I learned alot in SITA. Working in a big company itself is an experience. Dressing up was required everyday, even Fridays. And even more, I made friends. When I look back now, SITA people are the nicest I've ever met.

US was my dream place. I dreamed it for two things: driving a car and having a gun. So I accepted the very first offer and joined OpenCon Systems, Inc. in March 1998.

While driving a car is now everyday life and I have shot 200 rounds in a shooting range in Texas, we found it a surprise that US is such a beautiful place. New York City is my favorite. The first impression was, this is so REAL. While skycrapers rise to the sun, the dirtiness of NY subway is worse than any place I've seen. We saw elevators of almost 100 year-old shaking up and down. This is un-imaginable in Singapore where everything is so new, so well maintained that we thought anything more than 20 year-old should be gotten rid of.

I have plenty of pictures digitized. (Thanks to Pang for helping to scan them). These are my favorite:

World Trade Center, New York City
Staying in NTU was fun because of these great guys...Hello, Guillaume!
Great New York City is our favorite place.
Comparing to New York, Washington, D.C. is a small town. But...
The latest!
He or she.
Most solid buddies.
Don't know where to put them but definitely they're my best pictures...
